Will Harley start making bikes that use ethanol fuel?

ethanol fuel

I realize they don’t use much gas to begin with but just wondering if it’s being considered?

  1. I hope not–ethanol actually causes more pollution to make than it does to consume it as fuel. Not alot of people know that, though–that’s why we see so many people hopping on the ethanol bandwagon.

  2. The use of E-10 Unleaded is approved for use by major motorcycle manufacturers including Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.
Harley-Davidson goes so far as to recommend the use of renewable, clean air fuels such as E-10 Unleaded because of their environmental and performance benefits. Lots of controversy on this, you know?

  5. i hope not.

  6. not e-85

harley motors are air cooled.. they have a wider range of operating temeperatures which can vary by 100 degrees depending upon ambient temperature and speed. water cooled cars and motorcycles can keep that limited to a 10-15 degree range. as a result in this temperature differential, the fuel used must be stable enough, and powerful enough to permit proper engine function at all times. besides, at 45+mpg, who cares.
