I have to write an essay on something related to business. I found that hybrid car would be interesting to talk about but I don’t know what to talk about it by looking at the business side. Any suggestion and links about hybrid car business?

The batteries are expensive. The ore to make them (much of it)comes from Russia and Africa. It is difficult to get the resources to make them at this time.

Write that it is new technology, that is expensive, and that down the road batteries need replacement, which is also expensive, and that if you add up the extra costs the fuel savings may not justify the extra inverstment/costs. Do a financial analysis with actual $’s, you will get an A for being someone capable of independant rational thought.

How about the pressure oil company lobbyists exert on politicians to keep hybrid technology from gaining a foothold. A great documentary called “Who Killed the Electric Car?” will give you a starting point.
Many innovative ideas are burried by politicos to protect business constituents who are the heaviest campaign contributors.
