How to convert a 1978 Mercedes 300 D to Bio-Diesel?

bio-diesel

I recently got this car and I’m very interested trying to run it on Bio-Diesel or what ever it’s called. Thank you for taking time to read this and have a great day.

  1. Here’s a link for Bio conversion on Mercedes.

  2. Yes, there’s a conversion kit, but it will actually run on Bio-Diesel the way it is (without any conversion.) Not a good idea to do it without conversion, but it will run.

  3. No diesel engine needs to be converted to run on bio-diesel. Straight vegetable oil, yes, but not bio-diesel. Bio-diesel is made from vegetable oil that has been chemically altered to have a viscosity similar to diesel fuel. It can be mixed with diesel fuel in any ratio up to 100%. If you’d like to learn how to process waste vegetable oil into bio-diesel, check out this site.
It’s not that hard or expensive to do. I’ve been processing my own for 3 years>
