I am thinking about buying a hybrid, but I have heard that they will raise insurance A LOT. Can anyone confirm.
I’m a 22 year old female, with one speeding ticket on my record 4 years ago, and I am not married.
Thanks in advance.

Unknown. I doubt the cars themselves present more of of a risk than any other slow, ugly, boring car on the road but they DO cost much more to repair when crashed.
The increase in insurance premiums for hybrids would not have anything to do with your driving record. It’s due to the fact that a given hybrid costs more than the equivalent vehicle with a gasoline engine. This means that there’s also a higher replacement cost, which factors into the amount of your insurance premium. Different insurance companies most likely have different policies, though, so check with your insurance agent for the most accurate information.
Your not going to get chicks with a hybrid. Buy an american muscle V8!
I checked with my insurance company on a Toyota Prius and the same insurance coverage was nearly the same as it is on my 2006, Pontiac Vibe. Only slightly higher…Seems like it was about $55.00 per year more.
