Is it case similar to the world of finance which ended up in disastrous failure where people are trying to create money out of thin air (like with carbon trading) without actually producing or are these real jobs that people can do ?

Apart from the obvious like people installing green technology what other green jobs are there ?

Is there any animal sourses for producing oil,for example any insects which are capable of producing oily substance and also having a short life span?These organisms which inturn be cultured for extracting oil for bio diesel?

The cost (monetary and energy expenditure) of bio-diesel and E85 is about 25% above that of petroleum based fuel sources. We’re already seeing a rise in cost for corn, soy, and sunflower containing products. Do you really think that these bio fuels are the answer, or is it possible to come up with a more realistic energy source (like hydrogen) that isn’t so costly in terms of energy use and destruction of biomass?

I have a Mercedes E270 Diesel and my father a Saab 95 2.2 diesel. We both are horrified by the price of fuel and want to reduce our costs whilst reducing our emissions.
I have tried to contact bio-diesel companies but all I get is how to make bio-diesel as opposed to whether i can run our vehicles on it. The where do I get it will be my next question.

Can any one give me the details regarding the infrastructure and capital needed for setting up a bio diesel plant? I want to set up the plant in India.
Can you also please let me know the breakup of the investment amount, that goes into the infrastructure? I look forward to know the machines needed, the area of land etc.

How do you make bio diesel? what crops are used? and how much would you have to grow to be able to produce it commercially?

What exactly is bio diesel fuel and where does it come from? Is it any different from just diesel? Like the diesel pumps at most gas stations? Is it a fossil fuel? I know it is being touted as an alternative fuel but what makes is it so different and cleaner than gasoline ?

To grow the crops neccessary to make bio diesel feasible, it would require a HUGE amount of land development, destroying wildlife habitat in the process.
Let’s not forget that with each crop rotation, the nutrients are being taken from the ground and have to be replaced, which would require fertilizer to be added EVERY year.
What about the pesticides that have to be applied to protect the growing crops every year?
And what about the fact that there are MILLIONS of starving people who could benefit from food crops being planted instead of fuel alternatives.

Any other thoughts? I am just curious as to what others think.

With this whole push to use alternate fuels in cars, is the US military experiementing with any? As of now most ground vehicles, such as tanks and APC’s, use fuel to run. Is the military looking to use alternate sources also?

If the EPA does not want drilling off the coasts and in Alaska, then why don’t they investment in alternative fuel technologies or install hydrogen pumps in fueling stations? Stop preventing and start providing a solution to the problem!
